All 216 Democrats voted ‘No’.
4 Republicans said they’d vote No also.
207 Republicans have voted Yes.
There are still 9 Republicans yet to vote.
Doing the sums it appears the best the Republicans can do is 216 Yes, which means it’s a tie. I am no US Congressional scholar but I’m told by those who are that a 216-216 tie is a loss.
For now at least.
Past experience tends to show House Speaker Johnson manages to pull off victory when all looks lost though.
