The GIFT Nifty was up 0.16% at 24,780 as of 06:41 a.m., signaling a positive start to Indian markets today.

Stocks rose on Monday seeing a pullback from the losses in the previous sessions. Additionally, investors sought refuge in safe-haven assets like gold and oil as Israel and Iran continued attacks on each other over the weekend. Equity-index futures for the S&P 500 rose 0.1%, while Asian markets also rose on Monday.

The Israeli Air Force launched an attack on the giant South Pars gas field after strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites and military leadership last week. This pushes the oil prices to extend its advance.

While oil and gold rose on Friday, the stocks fell as investors reacted to the rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

Markets On The Home Turf

India’s benchmark indices ended lower for a second straight session on Friday, closing the week in the red amid heightened volatility. The NSE Nifty 50 fell 169 points, or 0.68% to end at 24,718.60, while the BSE Sensex dropped 573 points, or 0.70% to settle at 81,118.

Foreign portfolio investors remained net sellers of Indian equities for the third straight session, offloading stocks worth Rs 1,263.52 crore, according to the provisional data from NSE. Domestic institutional investors continued to stay net buyers for the 21st straight session as they obtained equities worth Rs 3,041.44 crore.

Asian Markets Update

  • S&P 500 futures rose 0.1%.

  • Hang Seng index futures were down 0.5%.

  • Futures for the Nikkei 225 was up 0.8%.

  • Japan’s Topix index rose 0.8%.

  • Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index was also up 0.3%.

  • Euro Stoxx 50 futures were down 1.4%.

Commodity Check

  • West Texas Intermediate crude rose 1.3% to trade at $73.94 per barrel.

  • Spot gold advanced by 0.5% to $3,450 per ounce.

London Metal Exchange

  • Copper rose 0.03%, extending gains.

  • Nickel was flat on Monday.

  • Aluminum was down 0.26%, reversing losses.

  • Zinc was down 0.27%, extending losses.

  • Lead fell 0.18%, reversing gains.

US Market Updates

Stocks fell on Friday as Israel-Iran tension escalated after Israel attacked Iranian nuclear sites. The S&P 500 fell 1.1% to hits worst session since May 21, the Nasdaq 100 was down 1.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.79%.

Additionally, US inflation was muted in May, indicating that a tariffs have yet to result in higher prices for consumers and businesses.

Stocks To Watch

  • ITC: The company acquired Sresta Natural Bioproducts for an upfront consideration of Rs 400 crore. SNBPL has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company post-acquisition.

  • Yes Bank: Moody’s upgraded the bank ratings to Ba2 from Ba3 and changed the rating outlook to stable from positive. The rating upgrade is driven by gradual improvement in the bank’s credit profile, including its capital and loan loss reserves.

  • SpiceJet: Consolidated revenue from operations in the March quarter fell 15.7% year-on-year to Rs 1,466 crore. Net profit rose to Rs 342 crore compared to Rs 127 crore.

  • IREDA, Gensol Engineering: NCLT admitted IREDA’s insolvency application against Gensol Engineering arm Gensol EV of a lease default amount of Rs 218.95 crore.

  • Natco Pharma: The USFDA, in its inspection from June 9 to June 13 at the API manufacturing plant located in Hyderabad, concluded with one observation in form-483.

  • Tata Motors: Moody’s raised Jaguar Land Rover’ rating to Ba1 from Ba2 and revised outlook to positive. The rating reflects a strengthened consolidated credit profile.

  • Arkade Developers: The company forayed into Maharashtra’s Thane metro area with 6.28-acre project with an estimated gross development value of Rs 2,000 crore.

  • NTPC: The company will raise Rs 4,000 crore via NCDs on a private placement basis. The proceeds will be utilised for funding of capital expenditure, refinancing of existing loans, and other general corporate purposes. Further, the company started commercial operations at Karanpura super thermal power project on June 15. The total standalone commercial capacity of the company stands at 60,266 MW.

  • Authum Investment: The company signed an agreement with Devicam Capital to acquire 39.3 lakh shares of OneSource Specialty.

  • IOL Chemicals: The company’s product Acetic Anhydride has been registered with REACH in accordance with EU REACH regulation on chemicals and their safe use. This certification allows the company to export Acetic Anhydride across all the countries in the European Union.

  • Birla Corp: Rajasthan government declared the company as a preferred bidder for the grant of mining lease for Gourum Khan Ki Dhani Limestone block.

  • IndusInd Bank: RBI approved the reappointment of Chokshi & Chokshi and the appointment of Borkar and Muzumdar as Joint Statutory Auditors.

  • Vedanta: The company will consider the first interim dividend for FY26 on June 18.

  • Syngene International: The company received EIR report for GMP manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru. EIR concluded an inspectional outcome as voluntary action indicated.

  • Sun Pharma: The company appointed Kirti Ganorkar as managing director for five years effective Sept. 1.

  • HBL Engineering: The company won a contract worth Rs 133 crore from South Central Railway for a Kavach system in Vijayawada — Ballarshah section.

  • Oswal Pumps: The public issue was subscribed to 0.42 times on day one. The bids were led by qualified institutional investors (0.08 times), non-institutional investors (0.79 times), retail investors (0.45 times).
