Sectoral Performance At Open: Nifty PSU Bank Outperforms

On National Stock Exchange, 11 sectoral indices advanced, one declined, and two remained flat out of 15. The NSE Nifty PSU Bank outperformed while the NSE Nifty Finance emerged as the worst performing sector.

Nifty Contributors: RIL, L&T Shares Support Gains 

Reliance Industries Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., State Bank of India, ICICI Bank Ltd., and Axis Bank Ltd. added to the Nifty 50 index.

HDFC Bank Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., Cipla Ltd., SBI Life Insurance Co., SBI Life Insurance Co., and Eternal Ltd. weighed on the Nifty 50 index.

Stock Market Today: Nifty, Sensex Open On A Muted Note

The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened on a muted note. Shortly after, the indices started to rise, tracking a gain in Reliance Industries Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd.

Oil prices continued to rise in Asia session Friday as data showed that crude oil inventories in the US declined, while summer season demand picked up.

The Brent crude was trading 0.58% higher at $68.12 a barrel as of 7:35 a.m.

Asia Market Update: CSI 300 Erases Gains After China’s Industrial Production Falls Sharply In May 

Mainland China’s benchmark index CSI 300 erased early gains after data showed that China’s Industrial production fell 9.1% on the year in May. So far industrial production declined 1.1% in 2025.

Most markets in Asia-Pacific region were trading higher with the Nikkei 225 rising over 1% as of 7:29 a.m.

US Market Update: Futures Trade Flat As Traders Assess Fed’s Policy Path 

Most US futures were trading flat on Friday morning as traders assessed the US Federal Reserve’s policy outlook going forward post a set of weak economic data. Most of the investors are expecting two rate cuts this calendar year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was trading 0.08% higher. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures were trading flat as of 7:19 a.m.

On Thursday, US share indices ended higher with the S&P 500 settling just shy of record high as the ceasefire between Israel and Iran continued.

Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.94% to 43,386.43. S&P 500 rose 0.80% to 6,141.02. Nasdaq Composite rose 0.97% at 20,167.91.

GIFT Nifty Implies Positive Start; Airtel, HCLTech, NTPC Shares In Focus

The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.08%, or 20.50 points higher at 25,718.00 as of 6:54 a.m., which implied a positive start for the NSE Nifty 50.

Traders may keep an eye on Bharti Airtel Ltd., Biocon Ltd., HCLTech Ltd., L&T Finance Ltd., NTPC Ltd., REC Ltd. shares because of the overnight news flow.

The benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Thursday, led by share prices of Shriram Finance Ltd. and Jio Financial Service Ltd., as Nifty Bank and Finance surged to hit all-time high levels. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 304.25 points, or 1.21% higher at 25,549, while the BSE Sensex closed 1,000 points, or 1.21% up at 83,755.87.
