Gold Price Rises As Traders Flock To Safe-Haven On Rising Geopolitical Tensions
Gold prices in the international markets advanced as traders flock to the safe-haven assets after geopolitical tension rose again following Israel’s air strikes in Iran.
In the attack, Iran lost several of its commanders and scientists. Israel targeted strategic military locations and nuclear program sites, as reported by Bloomberg.
The Bloomberg spot gold rose 1.73% to $3,444.48 an ounce so far today. It was trading 1.65% higher at $3,441.90 as of 8:38 a.m.
Oil Prices Surges Over 13% To Over Four-Month High On Israel-Iran Tensions
Oil futures continued to surge in Asia session as supply outlook blackened on worries over Israel-Iran tension. Israel has declared a state of emergency after launching air strikes in strategic locations in Iran.
Investors are concerned as a potential escalation could halt the supply from the West Asian region which accounts for a third of the global oil supply.
Brent crude August future contract surged 13.8% to $78.50 a barrel, the highest level since Jan 27. It was trading 10.31% higher at $76.58 a barrel as of 8:33 a.m.

Asia Market Update: Nikkei 225 Slips Over 1%; Geopolitical Tensions Weigh
Share indices across Asia-Pacific were trading sharply lower as risk-off sentiment prevailed after Israel declared a state of emergency after attacking nuclear and strategic sites inside Iran.
The Nikkei 225 and CSI 300 were trading 1.15% and 0.64% down, respectively as of 7:51 a.m. The S&P ASX 200 and KOSPI were trading 0.15% and 1% down, respectively.
US Market Update: S&P 500 & Dow Jones Futures Drop Over 1% In Asia Session
US futures fell sharply in Asia session as geopolitical tension surged after Israel launched air strikes at strategically important places in Iran.
The S&P 500 and Dow Jones futures were trading 1.50% and 1.36% down, respectively as of 7:34 a.m. The Nasdaq 100 future was down 1.56% down.
On Thursday, US share indices ended higher as investors rejoiced in muted producer price index data for May.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.24% to 42,967.62. The S&P 500 rose 0.38% at 6,045.26 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.24% at 19,662.48.
GIFT Nifty Implies Gap-Down Open; NDMC, ONGC, Dixon Tech Shares In Focus
The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.96% or 241 points down at 24,756 as of 6:47 a.m., which implied a sharply lower start for the Nifty 50 index.
Investors will monitor HCLTech Ltd., NMDC Ltd., Oil and Natural Gas Corp, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. share prices for overnight news flow. Oil refining companies will also be in focus because of a sharp rise in crude oil prices in the international markets.
The benchmark equity indices slumped on Thursday as shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. and Infosys Ltd. dragged.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 253.2 points or 1.01% down at 24,888.2, and the BSE Sensex closed 823.16 points or 1% lower at 81,691.98.
