On National Stock Exchange, eight sectoral indices advanced, two remained flat, and five declined out of 15.

Nifty Contributors: Adani Ports And SEZ, Adani Enterprise Contribute Most 

Adani Enterprise Ltd., Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., and Jio Financial Services added to the NSE Nifty 50 index.

ICICI Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., and Bharti Airtel Ltd. weighed on the NSE Nifty 50 index.

Shares of Adani Group companies rose during early trade on Friday after the Securities and Exchange Board of India said in its final order that allegations by the Hindenburg case could not be established.

The regulator imposed no penalty and cleared Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd., Adani Power Ltd., and Adani Enterprises Ltd. of any liabilities. Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani and Adani Enterprises Managing Director Rajesh Adani were also cleared.

Net direct tax collections for the financial year 2025-26, as of September 17, 2025, have shown a notable increase, rising by 9.18% to reach over Rs 10.82 lakh crore or $131 billion.

This growth is primarily attributed to a substantial decline in refunds issued by the Income Tax Department, a key indicator of efficiency in tax processing and compliance.

Nvidia Corp. agreed to invest $5 billion in Intel Corp. and said the two will co-develop chips for PCs and data centers, a surprise move to help prop up an ailing archrival that sent Intel shares soaring, Bloomberg reported.

Nvidia will buy Intel common stock at $23.28 per share, the two companies said on Thursday. Intel will use Nvidia’s graphics technology in upcoming personal computer chips and also provide its processors for data center products built around Nvidia hardware, as per Bloomberg.

Asia Markets LIVE: Nikkei Hits New High Before BoJ Rate Decision

Japan’s Nikkei 225 hit a new high before the Bank of Japan’s rate decision. The index rose 1.21% to a record high of 45,852.75 so far in Friday’s session.

According to Reuters’ poll, the Bank of Japan will likely keep the interest rate unchanged at 0.5%.
