Oil prices continued to trade steady in Asia session Thursday amid an anticipated rise in US crude stock pile. The September future contract of brent was trading 0.01% higher at $70.20 a barrel as of 8:06 a.m.

Most markets in Asia-Pacific region were trading higher amid US announcing tariffs increasing global trade volatility. The Hang Seng and CSI 300 were trading 0.14% and 0.19% higher, respectively as of 7:35 a.m.

The Nikkei 225 declined 0.50% as of 7:35 a.m.

US Market Update: Dow Jones And Nasdaq 100 Futures Drop As US Announces 50% Tariff on Copper Imports 

US equity futures fell sharply after the US President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on copper import. He also revealed a tariff letter which showed a 50% tariff on Brazil imports.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 futures were trading 0.17% and 0.18% down, respectively as of 7:24 a.m.

GIFT Nifty Implies Tepid Open; Hind Copper, JSW Energy, Railtel Corp Shares In Focus

The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.01% or 1.50 points lower at 25,572.50 as of 6:48 a.m., which implied a tepid open.

Investors will focus on metal stocks as US President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on copper, effective from Aug 1. Amber Enterprises Ltd., JSW Energy Ltd., Asian Paints Ltd., UPL Ltd., Fischer Medical Ventures Ltd. share prices.

The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex ended in the green on Tuesday even as many traders remained on the sidelines awaiting clarity on US and India trade deal. Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank Ltd. were top contributors to the NSE Nifty 50 index.

The Nifty 50 ended 61.20 points or 0.24% higher at 25,522.50, and the BSE Sensex ended 270.01 points or 0.32% higher at 83,712.51.
