Gold price in India stood at Rs 95,940 per 10 grams as of 6:45 a.m. on Monday, according to the India Bullion Association. It was trading slightly higher at Rs 95,950 per 10 grams on Friday.
Some major metro cities also saw decline in prices. Gold rate in Delhi stood at Rs 95,600 per 10 grams, compared to Rs 95,610 per 10 grams on Friday. Mumbai’s gold price was at Rs 95,770. In Kolkata, the price was lower at Rs 95,650 from Rs 95,650 on Friday and in Bangalore it was at Rs 95,840.
The price in Chennai also saw less change from the last trading session and stood at Rs 96,050 — the highest in the country.
The rate in United States gained to trade higher at $3,306.10 an ounce.
Silver Price
Silver price declined to trade at Rs 97,300 per kg on Monday. The commodity has crossed the Rs 1 lakh-mark multiple times in the past couple of months, as per India Bullion Association. Strong industrial demand for silver, fuelled by its importance in renewable energy technologies and electronics, has been driving the surge.
In the United States silver rate was little changed and traded at $33.25 an ounce.
Futures
June 5 Futures for the yellow commodity fell sharply by 0.59% to trade at Rs 95,891 per 10 grams. Silver futures for July 4 also saw a slight decline of 0.02% to Rs 96,996 per kg.
