Brokerages offered mixed views on Infosys Ltd. after the IT major reported its first-quarter results for the financial year ending March 2025, describing the performance as overall “balanced” despite strong deal wins and a slight upward revision to the lower end of its FY26 revenue guidance.

The Narayana Murthy-founded company witnessed 3% growth in revenue over the previous quarter at Rs 42,279 crore, according to an exchange filing.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said the group is focused on scaling manufacturing excellence across emerging sectors including semiconductors, electric vehicles, digital platforms, and financial services. In the company’s 2025 annual report, he outlined how the group is positioning itself for future growth through strategic investments and diversification.

Gold Prices Extend Losses To Second Day 

Gold prices in the international markets decline for a second session as risk-off sentiment weakened as US is sealing deals with trade partners before the Aug 1 deadline hits.

The Bloomberg spot gold was trading 0.06% down at $3,385.39 an ounce as of 8:23 a.m.

Asia Market Update: Japan’s Topix Hits Record High 

Japan’s Topix index scaled a fresh high earlier on Thursday as positive sentiment continued to support the upward momentum in the Asian share indices.

Japan and US signed a trade deal on Wednesday in which the Asian country will face 15% tariff compared to 25% tariff imposed earlier. Tariffs on automobile sector also got reduced through the trade deal.

The Topix index rose 1.97% to a record high of 2,984.03. The index was trading 1.94% higher as of 7:58 a.m.

US Market Update: S&P 500 And Nasdaq 100 Futures Rise On Trade Deal Optimism

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures rose in Asia session as optimism rose about the US striking a deal with more trade partners in coming future. President Donald Trump said that there will likely be discussion with the European Commission later on Thursday.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures were trading 0.14% and 0.42% higher, respectively as of 7:53 a.m. The Dow Jones Industrial Average future declined 0.21%.

GIFT Nifty Implies Tepid Open; Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Infosys, Tata Consumer Shares In Focus

The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.04% or 10 points down at 25,282.50 as of 6:41 a.m., which implied a flat open with negative bias.

Traders will monitor Infosys Ltd., Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., Bajaj Finance Ltd., and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. because of the first-quarter profit and loss statement releases. Multi Commodity Exchange of India, Natco Pharma Ltd., and Tanla Platforms will also be in focus.

The benchmark equity indices closed higher on Wednesday, led by shares of HDFC Bank Ltd. and ICICI Bank Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 159 points or 0.63% higher at 25,219.90, while the BSE Sensex closed 539.83 points or 0.66% up at 82,726.64.
