Gold price jumped almost Rs 300 to trade at Rs 98,010 per 10 grams on Tuesday as of 6:45 a.m. according to the India Bullion Association. On Monday it was trading at Rs 95,940 per 10 grams

Some major metro cities also saw a hike in prices. Gold rate in Delhi stood at Rs 97,660 per 10 grams, compared to Rs 95,600 per 10 grams on Monday. Mumbai’s gold price was at Rs 97,830 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, the price was higher at Rs 97,700 per 10 grams from Rs 95,650 on Monday, and in Bangalore it was at Rs 97,910.

Chennai once again clocked the highest gold rate at Rs 98,110 per 10 grams.

On the other hand, in United States, traded in the red at $3,364.10 an ounce.

Silver

Silver price in India crossed the one lakh mark on Tuesday. It was trading at Rs 101,300 per kg. The commodity has crossed the Rs 1 lakh-mark multiple times in the past couple of months, as per India Bullion Association. Strong industrial demand for silver, fuelled by its importance in renewable energy technologies and electronics, has been driving the surge.

In the US silver rate was $34.40 an ounce.

Futures

June 5 Futures for the yellow commodity saw a 2.16% rise to Rs 97,946 per 10 grams. In contrast, July futures were trading in the red at Rs 1,00,980 perg kg.
